The first photo was taken at about 7am - that's not that early, but still very dark. Asheville is pretty far west in the eastern time zone so I'm looking forward to turning the clocks back an hour real soon.
if you're going to go see a race to decide if you want to try it out, let me save you some time - just go out and get the bike today, you'll be hooked! I bought a cross bike about 6 years ago to ride on dirt roads because I can't stand (i'm afraid) riding on the road and i'm not into the technical aspect of mountain biking. The truth is i'd probably just use whatever bike i had for a first try of cross. i'm sure a mountain bike will work just fine, it'll just be a little heavy, but certainly worth not spending the extra money until you decide it'll be worth it. is there a cross race in SD holloween weekend?
Good advice. I might have some thicker tires for the road bike I can use, or just get some.
There is a race that a friend is doing that day. Thought I'd check it out, get some idea of the whole affair.
I have the same feelings you have about cycling though I guess I've braved the road some. But I don't like it. And technical mtb seems a little too gnarly.
A new blog title!
ReplyDeleteLove the comparison shots. Very cool.

ReplyDeleteYou miss spelled your blog title. It's
ReplyDelete"Fell Running".
I like the cyclocross idea. A lot.
Hey Matt!
ReplyDeleteYea, I'm doing the fell running "now" so I thought i was supposed to use the present tense?
Nice. Btw, I'm looking for a cheap cx bike.
ReplyDeleteActually before anything, I'm going to go watch a cx race on Halloween. I can't wait.
I've been running a lot, but that aerobic/beer stuff looks great.
